Chenzhou aims for well-known tourist destination at home and abroad

Located in the south of Hunan, Chenzhou is rich in cultural tourism resources. Last year, the city ranked second in the province in terms of tourist numbers and tourism revenue.

 

It was rated as the most popular domestic tourist destination by Guangdong Province, as over 80% of its out-of-province tourists came from the Greater Bay Area.
 
To coordinate the efforts of the provincial government to hold the Hunan Tourism Development Conference, Chenzhou has launched a project to promote the 100-billion-yuan cultural tourism industry, carried out 100 cultural tourism projects, implemented 10 measures which are designed to build Chenzhou into a well-known tourist destination at home and abroad.

Construction of 101 cultural tourism projects in full swing
 
On March 11, Chenzhou decided to launch the project on the 11th meeting of Standing Committee of the CPC Chenzhou Municipal Committee, sailing for the high-quality development of cultural tourism.
 
The project's goal this year is Chenzhou's annual tourism reception to exceed 60 million visitors, and the total cultural output and tourism revenue to reach 100 billion yuan.
 
A series of actions have been carried out, including project construction, policy formulation on epidemic prevention and control, service measures, marketing, etc.
 
On March 16 this year, an opening ceremony was held for the construction of 21 cultural tourism projects in Chenzhou. Plus the 80 projects that had been started before, there are already 101 cultural tourism projects with the total investment of 35.4 billion yuan under construction.
 
These 101 projects will be completed and put into use this year as planned. 
 
For example, Hunan (Shazhou) Red Tourism Industrial Park, with an annual investment of 120 million yuan, covers the improvement project of Exhibition Hall of "Warmth of Half A Quit", construction of Red Culture and Intangible Culture Heritage Inheritance Base and Red Tour Base, and so on. 
 
Long March Cultural Heritage Exhibition Hall has a total investment of more than 80 million yuan, and will be a landmark project of the Long March Cultural Park (Hunan section) after its completion within the year.

This is undoubtedly another remarkable achievement in the history of Chenzhou's cultural tourism industry.
 
In Zixing City, 13 cultural tourism projects will be completed within 3 to 5 months; 23 cultural tourism projects, including Zhoumensi Town Red Culture Communication Base, will further boost cultural tourism in the city.
 
Cultural tourism focuses on targeted investment attraction
 
A series of investment attraction activities will be held as one of ten measures to promote high-quality development of cultural tourism.
 
The city has released an investment attraction plan for cultural tourism, in which Chenzhou maps out over 30 investment projects designed to attract 54.9 billion yuan, and more than 30 investment projects related to cultural tourism with a planned investment of more than 88.3 billion yuan.
 
These projects involve red cultural tourism, upgrading of scenic areas, hot spring, health preservation in forest, cultural tourism, agricultural tourism, industrial tourism, etc., aimed to realize targeted investment attraction at all links of cultural tourism.

To attract projects, main leaders of Chenzhou set up special teams to devise and make investment brochures, promotional videos, cultural products centered on its superior resources, leading industries and preferential policies for targeted investment attraction.
 
11 counties (cities, districts) in Chenzhou also launched online investment attraction on national and provincial platforms. This May, Chenzhou plans to host a signing ceremony for major projects in the Greater Bay Area.

The city is now speeding up the formation of Chenzhou Cultural Tourism Group and its operating mechanism, to attract more social capital to invest in Chenzhou's cultural tourism, and make the industry bigger and stronger.
 
Deep integration yields convergence effect
 
Every year, lots of sports enthusiasts are drawn to Chenzhou Eagle Outdoor Camp in Dawangzhai Village, Tangdong Sub-district, Zixing City.
 
As the first large comprehensive training camp in Hunan that integrates air, water and land extreme sports, it mainly provides study tours, camp education, outward bound, sports tourism, outdoor sports experience and training, etc.
 
Dawangzhai Village, adjacent to Feitian Mountain and Gaoyi Ridge Scenic Area, has taken its location advantage to promote integrated development of agriculture, sports and tourism. And projects for eco-agricultural tourism, leisure and sports events have driven the development of agritainment and homestay inns as well.

There are 43 major cultural tourism projects in the city, among which Xihe Cultural Tourism Promoting Rural Revitalization project involves Guiyang County, Suxian District, Beihu District and Yongxing County, with a total investment of 510 million yuan, which will be built into a demonstration belt for rural revitalization.
 
Besides, there are six projects aimed to promote sports and tourism integration, including the upgrading project of the Chinese Women's Volleyball Team’s Training Base in Chenzhou, which is intended to renovate and expand Wulianguan Hotel, training base, exhibition hall and other facilities.
 
In 2022, 100 administrative villages and communities will be equipped with a full set of fitness equipment to create a 15-miniute sports circle for residents.
 
Chenzhou, focusing on the integration of agriculture, culture, sports and tourism, has vigorously carried out actions to cultivate market players and create quality projects in cultural tourism products, marketing and promotion, all-for-one tourism and tourism consumption, so as to promote the construction of a national pilot city for culture and tourism consumption.
